Archos announces Android-based Home Smart Phone, Home Connect

Internet radio/video device, DECT phone hit in September

In addition to its new Android tablets, Archos today announced two new Android devices for home use -- the Archos 35 Smart Home Phone, and the Archos 35 Home Connect web radio.

The Archos 35 Home Connect basically is an Android device for streaming music wirelessly anywhere. It sports an alarm clock, weather, traffic and news, Android applications, video calling and has access to more than 50,000 streaming radio stations.

The Archos 35 Smart Phone Phone combines a DECT phone and smartphone. Using any ADSL box or phone line and using standard DECT (think VOIP) protocols, it brings the power of an Android smartphone into your phone -- including full Web support.

The Archos 35 Home Connect is expected to be available in September for $149; the Archos 35 Smart Home Phone is expected in September as well for $149.
